The flight from Nairobi to Frankfurt brought us back to Europe and to the cold, how better it was in Tanzania!
Our Lufthansa flight was perfect, we flew in the premium economy class and, after having dinner, we slept for almost the whole trip.
When we arrived at Frankfurt we were greeted by a bitter cold, we were not ready for this thermal shock!
We pass quickly through the finger and enter the terminal, we have almost 4 hours of transit, so we can take it easy, but we decide to go immediately to the controls, so at least we do not think about it any longer, because we know that here in Frankfurt they are very fussy and we travel with 2 binoculars, 4 lenses and 2 camera bodies, 1 digital camera, 1 MacBook Air, 2 iPads and many other strange objects that, in the scanner of the controls, may seem like something else; we are already resigned to the fact that they will dismantle the hand baggage, and in fact it was so ;-)
One of the controllers continues to apologize to us for having us open and empty the backpack of cameras, honestly we prefer them to control rather than risking to miss something.
We go to the terminal from where our flight will leave and, given the time, it is 7.30 in the morning, we decide to go to breakfast in a very nice pastry bar called Perfect Day, even if, since we are coming back to home, it's not really a perfect day :-)
When it is almost time for boarding we go to our gate and, shortly after, we embark; we take off in perfect time and, once at altitude, we fly over our snow-covered Alps, we realize we are really coming home ...
We arrive at Malpensa, collect our suitcases and go to take our car; even here it's cold ... how far our Tanzania is; we take the A8, Milan Varese and, after about 40 minutes we arrive at home.
It has been a beautiful and exciting journey, we are very sorry to be back, but for this 2018 we have many projects and many trips to plan; we'll get to work soon!
