After an entire day of safari in the Kruger National Park, in South Africa, we arrived at the Mopani Rest Camp around 4.30pm.

First we check in and take the keys of the cottage; today we do not sleep in the camping because when we booked there was no more room.

Before going to our house, however, we go to where the restaurant and shop are located, here there is also a panoramic terrace overlooking the lake; finally, after so much roaming around today, we see a beautiful pool of water :)

There are several dead trees in the water, they are a bit spooky but fascinating; on the sandy banks there are several waterfowls, we watch them with our binoculars, then we scrutinize the banks well but we cannot see anything else.

The sun is already descending towards the horizon and the sky is coloring with the warm colors typical of the sunset; we order something to drink and put ourselves in contemplation of the sundowner.

An African sunset has a charm impossible to tell those who have never seen one: its bright colors, the silence broken only by possible noises of nature, the sun, that looks like a burning disk, that goes to hide beyond the horizon leaving behind a sky that seems painted.

While we enjoy this show we feel the water of the lake moving, we look down and see an elephant that is entering the water, it keeps the trunk raised so it can breathe if the water is too high, it is nice as it seems ready to snorkel!

The water is not very high, for it of course, and the snorkel is not necessary, so halfway through it relaxes the trunk.

When it arrives on the shore below us it begins to tear the grass that grows in the water to eat it; the noise of the tear is clearly heard.

It strolls along the shore eating, but at some point it gets nervous because some people, even if beyond the fence of the camp, have approached a bit too much: it swells the ears and bars a couple of times, it looks at them for some second and then returns to eat, it must have evaluated that they are not a danger.

What a beautiful scene, it is the perfect conclusion of a safari day full of elephants.
