Tonight we slept near the Mahango Reserve, that is on the border between Namibia and Botswana, yesterday we visited the reserve and although it is small we loved it, especially the Eastern path leading along the Okavango River.

This morning we leave soon, here in the Caprivi Strip in the winter months there is the same time as in Botswana, while in the rest of Namibia it is an hour behind, so we wake up as always at 6.00 am, but it's as if it is 5.00 am in Namibia; better, so today, traveling to the West, we gain one hour.

We take the main road coming from Botswana, but turn right towards the North; this is one of the few areas in Namibia where you see real Africa: children who go to school and who greet you smiling when you pass by car, women wearing unlikely weights, cars that will be 50 years old that you don’t know how, continue to work; it is a very nice atmosphere.

We arrive at the B8, the main road running along the Caprivi Strip, turn left towards Rundu; the road is asphalted and the bottom is perfect, in this regard it seems to be in South Africa, and therefore in Europe.

Along the way we encounter other off-road vehicles with the roof tents, each time I ask them what they are doing and where they come from; we also encounter some tugs that most likely come from the port of Walvis Bay and are directed to Kasane and from there, across the border with Zambia, who knows where in Central Africa.

We travel fast the nearly 200 miles leading us to Rundu, once we arrive, we stop to get fuel, buy something in the petrol station, but also from women who have fruit and vegetable stalls just in front.

Our journey goes along the B8, that from Rundu changes direction, and takes us South-West, in the direction of Grootfontein; but we'll stop before, we booked at the Roy Rest Camp for tonight.

We take the unpaved deviation and we arrive; it is really very nice, with objects and recovery utensils furnishing the common parts and they have set up the pool; they did a really good job, apparently studied by an architect, but they told us they did everything on their own.

We settle in our sheltered patio with stone table and braai, there is also a kitchen that can be used by all those who are in the camping, really nice.

We have lunch and eat the best tomatoes in our life, they are the ones we bought from one of the women at Rundu, she probably has harvested them mature this morning.

We relax a little, then this afternoon we will visit a village of the San, or Bushmen, we are curious and very interested.
