This morning we leave at dawn, we greet the Planet Baobab of Gweta, when we pass here we will definitely return because it was very good and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

We arrive at the A3, the main road, and turn left in the direction of Maun; behind us there is an amazing dawn, we admire it from the rearview mirrors.

The road runs along the Makgadikgadi National Park and, just a short distance from the Makgadikgadi and Nxai National Park; at the sides of the road you can see several animals and we are ready with the camera, in fact we see several steenboks, some bustards, the ubiquitous helmeted guinefowl, some gemsboks, wildebeests and white and pied crows.

Care should be taken when there are animals on the road because they might suddenly decide to cross right in front of the car; better to slow down and pass by them carefully, so to avoid unpleasant accidents.

When we arrive at Motopi we turn right, leaving the A3, we cross the village of Motopi and head South along the road bordering the Boteti River.

Here on the road changes the type of fauna, there is no wildlife but cattle, especially cows, goats, donkeys and horses; there are also characters who go horseback with the cowboy hat, for a moment we seem to be in Texas and not in Botswana.

We head to Rakops, where it starts the 40km long sandy track leading to the Maswete Gate at the Central Kalahari Game Reserve; but before taking the detour, we go to the town to refuel diesel, although one of the two tanks is still full, it is always better to get fuel whenever there is the opportunity; we also buy a lot of supplies for the next few days, in the CKGR there is no way to shop anything.

We deflate the tires and now we are ready for Central Kalahari's sand and black cotton tracks
