The Mbulu, also known as Iraqw, are a population living in Tanzania, in the area of the Manyara Lake; they speak a language completely different from those spoken by neighboring populations and this fact has caused isolation that has allowed them to preserve ancient traditions; they are farmers and breeders, but they are also skilled blacksmiths and weavers.
The Mbulu's life is marked by numerous ceremonies and rites of passage that are always accompanied by parties and celebrations.
The Mbulu, or Iraqw villages are dispersed in the territory because each single home, belonging to a single family, is surrounded by the land that is cultivated by the family.
