Pechino Express is back, the travel and adventure tv program presented by Costantino della Gherardesca, and this year the competitors will explore our continent: Africa.
The stages are not yet final and therefore there are no details, but the competition will touch three states: Morocco, Tanzaniaand South Africa.
Whatever the stages that the competitors will have to make, surely the scenery will be enchanting.

Every year hundreds of thousands of tons of plastic end up in the oceans, compromising their same life, to be more precise according to the World Economic Forum statistics, by 2050, there will be more plastic waste in our oceans than the fish living there, already today, still according to estimates, 8 million tons of plastic are poured into the oceans every year, damaging both the animals and the ecosystem.

In the Mozambique Channel, among the archipelago of the Mitzio islands, Nosy Be is surely the best known of the Madagascar islands.
A little less when it is called with the name of Nosy Manitra, or "Island of Perfumes": there are in fact crops of Ylang Ylang, but also coffee, vanilla (of which Madagascar is the world's first producer) cocoa, cinnamon, pepper, frangipane and other typical plants. Surely among the most inebriating fragrances, a place of honor belongs to the Ylang Ylang plant.

Torrential downpours cause severe flooding in Tanzania, the unusually heavy seasonal rains have caused widespread problems everywhere in East Africa.
The worst floods in Tanzania are recorded along the North coast where most of the infrastructure has been damaged and Dar es Salaam is flooded and isolated.
To give an idea of the situation in Dar es Salaam in just one day more than 170 mm of rain fell, the heaviest rain since the statistics began, the seasonal average does not exceed 80 mm.

The Great Migration of the Serengeti is one of the most famous migrations in the world, but it is not the only one that occurs on the African continent; there is an unknown migration to most that occurs in Southern Africa.

A lion, in a reserve near the Kruger National Park, has eaten a suspected poacher.
The cat has almost completely devoured the man leaving only the head and a few other shreds.
The Limpopo police later discovered, at a short distance from what remained of the man, a rifle and ammunitions, evidence that confirms the hypothesis that man has entered the reserve for poaching.
The lion surprised the incautious poacher, probably during the night, and did justice.
Great Green Wall
The largest non-polar desert, the Sahara, covers 9,400,000 sq km in North Africa, and continues to grow and expand to the South, due to climate change, creeping above all in Senegal, Mauritania and Nigeria.
More than anywhere else on Earth, the Sahel is a front-line area for climate change and millions of people are already facing its devastating impact: persistent droughts, lack of food, conflicts due to fewer available natural resources and mass migration to Europe are some of the many consequences.
As always at the end of a journey, besides starting to program another one, it is the moment when the sums are drawn, and this time too we have done this exercise:
The flight from Nairobi to Frankfurt brought us back to Europe and to the cold, how better it was in Tanzania!
Our Lufthansa flight was perfect, we flew in the premium economy class and, after having dinner, we slept for almost the whole trip.
When we arrived at Frankfurt we were greeted by a bitter cold, we were not ready for this thermal shock!

This morning we woke up sad because today we go back home, but we are happy because we have had a wonderful journey in our beloved Tanzania.
We close our suitcases and after breakfast we check out from our tented camp; Sir Stanley Speke is already there at the reception waiting to take us to the airport, we load the suitcases and go.
We are in Mto Wa Mbu, from here, with the new speed limits, it takes about 2 hours to get to Arusha and from there it takes another hour, if there is no traffic, to arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport .
