Africa is a continent of such incredible biodiversity that there will always be stories of conservation success. Unfortunately, we live in a world that is becoming more and more densely populated by humans, leaving less and less habitat for beloved wildlife. Not only this, but mass deforestation, the proliferation of single-use plastics, and a disregard for our fragile ecosystem have left not just wildlife, but the world we live in, struggling to survive.

We are in love with Africa, the most beautiful and "absurd" continent in the world, in Africa people always smile like you would never expect and in an equally unexpected way they invite you home to share the few things they have.

They have nothing and they share the very few things they have?
Yes, because this is the way they live life; this is the concept of the village, where everyone helps each other,
and they are used to extends it to travelers who are lucky enough to visit those fantastic places.

As always, at the end of a trip, the time has come to pull the strings and put down the numbers that characterized this trip to Botswana and South Africa.

We are at Johannesburg in South Africa, we spent a month traveling around Botswana and Northern South Africa, this morning we went to have brunch at the Fourways Farmers Market; we like it so much that we have decided that, from now on, it will be our favorite place for Sunday brunch every time we are in Jozi.

We are at Johannesburg in South Africa and we are at the end of a journey that led us to explore part of Northern South Africa and Botswana; today is the day of our departure, we go home ... what an infinite sadness, but we still have the day today and we want to enjoy it to the full.

It's Sunday and so what's better than the Fourways Farmers Market to drown the sorrows of departure?

We were in Pretoria this morning and, after taking a very short tour of the city, we left to Johannesburg, this is the last stop in South Africa and of the whole trip; in fact tomorrow we have the flight to go home, unfortunately I would add.

For the first time, we cheated on our favorite hotel the Premier OR Tambo Hotel because we wanted to try the Protea OR Tambo, that is located right in front of Johannesburg OR Tambo airport and a few hundred meters from the Premier.

We are located in Pretoria, one of the capitals of South Africa, yes South Africa does not have a capital like most countries, but it has three of them: Pretoria is the administrative capital, Cape Town is the legislative capital and Bloemfontein is the judicial capital; one of the many peculiarities of this country with a complicated past that tries, in some way, to go further.

We are at Palapye in Botswana, this was the last night we spent in this beautiful country; we stayed at the Peaconwood Boutique B&B and, in addition to enjoying it as a structure, we had a great time.

We woke up at 7.30 am and went to have breakfast, the girl cooks us an omelet and sunny-side-up eggs worthy a star chef, wow!

We close our bags, close our Dr Livingstone and, before leaving to South Africa, we ask the girl if there is a tire dealer to understand if we can repair the tire we punctured yesterday.

We are in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana, the time has come to leave today; we are very sorry because this was our last night in the wild and this morning leaving the CKGR we will make our last safari hours of this trip; in the end we have been around for almost a month and unfortunately the time has come to go back to Johannesburg and then go home.
