We left the Serengeti National Park, through the Naabi Hill gate; these days we have made excellent safaris, as always in the Serengeti I would say, also it was the first time we visited the park during the green season, so we are happy and satisfied, but now our journey must continue.

We cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area again, following the same road that we have traveled on the way in; for several kilometers on the road there are the herds of the Great Migration; we have seen them for days but we continue to be fascinated and take photographs.

After some kms the herds of wildebeests and zebras give way to the livestock of the Masai, in this area there are some Masai villages; this population has been allowed to live in the lands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area because these lands are part of their ancestral lands, but they are forbidden to carry out some activities, they cannot, under any circumstances, bring the herds inside of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Some Masai villages can be visited, but we do not stop, we have already seen them before; at the side of the road there are many children, some watch the cows and the goats, others simply watch the passage and say hello, some of them ask for money to be immortalized in the photographs of the travelers who pass through here.

Shortly after the road begins to climb, the climb on the slope of the Ngorongoro Crater on this side is a bit less scenic because it is less steep and, at least for the first part, not immersed in the forest; but this allows you to admire the landscape and the lands of the Conservation Area that lie beneath us.

When we get on the edge the air has become cold, we are at altitude and here the temperature is never too high, moreover there is a lot of humidity, thanks to the presence of the rainforest.

We travel a good part of the edge of the crater and stop near the panoramic terrace from which you can see the whole Ngorongoro Crater; it is always an exciting show that we are never tired of seeing.

From here we begin the descent through the forest, that is located on this side of the crater, I find it fascinating and beautiful even though it seems impenetrable; the dirt road of red earth snakes through the intense green of the vegetation and leads us to the entrance of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

We leave the gate and take the asphalt road, we're a little sorry because we like a lot the dirt and it gives us that feeling of adventure; but after the mud and the puddles of the past few days, a bit of asphalt is ok.

In half an hour we arrive at Karatu, where today is a market day; there are many people both at the roadside and in a large area, that looks like a sports field, here are all the merchants who sell their own goods.

We continue on our way and, shortly after, we arrive at Mto Wa Mbu; tonight we stay in a beautiful tented camp on the outskirts of this town.

We check in and relax a bit before going to dinner, today we have done a good amount of road and we are a bit tired, but we are satisfied.

Our journey is coming to an end, but we still have a couple of days to enjoy our Tanzania.
