This morning we left Lake Eyasi and went to visit a Hadzabe "village", a population of Tanzania that still lives in a very primitive way.

We leave the Hadzabe and take the dirt road, the same that we have traveled to reach Lake Eyasi and that will take us to Karatu; after traveling a few kilometers we stop near a river and have lunch, with the lunch boxes that we got prepared by the lodge.

The landscape around us is very nice and having lunch in this way, along the road, we like it very much.

We continue our journey through the Iraqi or Iraqw villages, also known as Mbulu, a Tanzitic population that is mainly devoted to agriculture.

Shortly after we arrive at Karatu and we go to the gas station to fill the two tanks of Sir Stanley Selous, our car; in the next days we will travel several km in safari mode and we must have enough fuel.

From here we head towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and, after about half an hour we arrive at the Loduare entrance.

How nice to be here again, every time we are excited as if it was the first time; after paying the entrance we leave!

The road rises steeply, winding through the rainforest, that covers the outer wall of the Ngorongoro Crater caldera; the vegetation is very dense and primordial, here live several animals including elephants, leopards, some antelopes and several birds, but it is very difficult to spot them, we need luck as it happened to us once we found the elephants on the road.

Once arrived at the edge of the crater we stop at the panoramic terrace from where we have a spectacular view on the bottom of the crater.

How green it is! We've never seen it like this! Yes, because we came more often during the dry season, in the months from June to October, while we almost never came during the green season; this year it rained abundantly during the rainy season, in November and December, and then the vegetation is lush, the grass is green and there are ponds a bit everywhere.

We cannot wait to get down into the Ngorongoro Crater tomorrow, but now we go to the lodge; we stay at the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge, that has a spectacular panoramic view of the crater, both from the terrace and from all the rooms.

We check-in, drop the suitcases in the room and go immediately to the terrace to enjoy the view while having a drink; the inside of the crater is really a show, if I had to describe how I imagine the earthly paradise I would describe it exactly like that!
