This morning we left our campsite, near the Etosha National Park, at 7.30am and head towards the town of Otijo; along the road we feel that the bullbar vibrates more than usual so when we stop at Otijo for fuel, we ask if they can give it a check.

The gas station boy points out that it has unsoldered; we are shocked, both us and him, also because it is new and has not taken any shot, only the vibrations of dirt roads.

Today in the city it is a holiday and so it's all closed, but the guy in the gas station tells us "no problem, I call a friend of mine" and, after ten minutes, a guy who is the owner of the spare store, looks at the bullbar and tell us "I'm going to take the welding machine in the workshop, then I'll come back and we go to my house."

We wait for him and after another ten minutes he arrives and tells us to follow him in the car.

We arrive at his home, we enter the yard and we are welcomed by three cute dogs that want to play and jump on us wagging their tails; meanwhile the guy is welding the bullbar.

Soon after he finishes the job, we pay him, he asks for 30 €, practically nothing, and then he draws on the ground the road we have to do from his home to go to the C39, the road leading to the Skeleton Coast.

In which other place, on holiday, and in a town of 5,000 people, would everybody be prodigal to help us? Only in Africa.
