This morning we wake up early, we are at the Maun Audi Camp and we must go to the Moremi Game Reserve; we have breakfast, then we close everything and head towards Shorobe, that is about 40 km from Maun.

Just past Shorobe the paved road leaves the place to the dirt road but the bottom is hard so we wait to deflate the tires.

After about 10 km, we pass the Vet Fence, that was erected so that cattle cannot be infected with certain wildlife diseases such as the rinderpest; at the same time, however, it prevents wild animals from going out, but also livestock entering, avoiding disadvantages that could cause a conflict between man and nature.

We proceed and at some point we get to a junction: on the left we proceed to the Moremi Reserve, while to the right is the road that goes North and towards the Chobe National Park; what a surprise and will to go back, we will soon arrange an expedition there!

After about twenty kilometers we arrive at the gate of the Moremi Reserve, compile the register and then we enter; now it is time to deflate the tires because from here on there are some sandy tracts and with the deflated tires we have more adherence to the ground.

We follow the main road, we use both Tracks4Africa and the Shell map, that is very detailed on the tracks and that shows very well the main and the secondary ones, that are usually the hardest to travel.

From the Gate you can go to Third Bridge to the West, crossing the canal, or North, where the North Gate is located, or cross the track that goes North-West and crosses the reservoir longitudinally, passing through the Mopane forest; we take this last track because we're heading to Xakanaxa.

This year during the rainy season it has rained a lot and therefore, even though we are now in the dry season, there are still water puddles here and there where it is possible to spot the animals.

In fact, we encounter some elephants who are going to drink, clusters of impalas between the bushes and some wonderful giraffes, intending to eat the few acacias present here.

We stop taking some photos and then we go on.

The road is in good condition and the sand is not so much, there are no flooded parts, we were sure of this because we monitored the situation to find no surprises along our route.

After about 40 km we arrive at the Gate of Xakanaxa, we have to register here too because only those who stay in this area can access it.

From here to our tent camp there are only 4 km but this is the worst part of the road, nothing worrisome, but it is sandy, we also find a bit of mud and a puddle; nothing that our off-road vehicle cannot easily overtake.

We arrive at the tent camp at 12.00 pm, just in time for the brunch; we are staying at the Moremi Camp, here are two days of pampering by the staff and safari days where we hope to see many animals; our expectations are high because we know that this area is one of the best in the whole game reserve and in the past we have made exceptional sightings.

We park our off-road vehicle that can rest for the next two days, we will do the safari with the camp's car and with their guides who know very well all the streets in the reserve.
