We are at the Pilanesberg National Park, this morning we have breakfast at the Bakgatla campground in the company of the green vervetsand then we leave.

Our itinerary included, for the day today, a last safari at the Pilanesberg National Park, then an hour transfer and entry into the Marakele National Park; instead we had to change our plans because, the other day, the refrigerator broke down and we can't face our journey without, so we have to buy a new one.

The other night we looked on Tracks4Africa and on Google Maps and we studied the situation, looking for the nearest Outdoor Warehouse store; fortunately we can also do the research offline otherwise how would we have done it? Sometimes we underestimate the technology we have available and sometimes it is also considered negative, but in this case it has saved us!

We leave from the Pilanesberg National Park around 8:00am and, following the directions by Google Maps, we head South following the signs to Rustenberg that is our destination.

The road runs along a large part of the Pilanesberg National Park and crosses a few villages where there are several immense and beautiful houses, but does everyone have a villa here? They probably work in the national park or in the mines and companies in the area.

It takes us just over an hour to cover almost 90 km, Rustenberg looks like a city built around the mines, a bit like the whole area to the East of the Pilanesberg National Park; it also looks new, or at least the car dealerships that are along the main road are new, the same is true for shopping centers.

Shortly after we arrive at the mall where the Outdoor Warehouse store is located, while we park we wonder if they will have a refrigerator that goes into the compartment of our Dr. Livingstone.

The shop is large and seems well stocked, perhaps it has more things than the one where we always go to at Johannesburg; we look at the refrigerators, but the only thing to do is to ask someone so he can help us take the measurements and can see where it should be positioned.

A guy follows us with the meter, he takes measurements and then looks for the right size refrigerator, that is exactly what I think was the best.

This new refrigerator is beautiful, it has three trays to separate things and to optimize space, it is also larger than ours because it is a little bigger and has less thick walls, so more space is recovered.

But this fridge has a problem: it opens on the wrong side; ours opens from the small side because it slips into a narrow and long compartment, while this opens from the long side, it could be the same but it is more uncomfortable because, every time you open it, you have to move the cylinders too.

But the guy looks at us puzzled and tells us: "But there is no problem! I'll fix it for you! "; armed with a screwdriver, it disassembles the hinges of the lid and the catch of the closure and thus changes the direction of the opening.

Great! We did not know it could be done, or rather, in Milan they would have told us "this is the fridge, bye!" He, on the other hand, after working for more than half an hour to close the refrigerator, left the shop and fixed the electrical connections; he was really very kind and helpful, also because otherwise we wouldn't have been able to do anything.

While the shop boy and Silvan make the whole mess with the fridge, after a while I get tired of watching and take a walk around the store and find some things to buy like salt and pepper and a new grill to toast the bread, since we have only one and it must serve for everything, then I look at the chairs, since we have a chaise longue, a beautiful armchair, that we bought the first year, and then two armchair that were given to us when we bought the car, but they are a bit ugly; in the end we also buy two director's chairs and a small stool for putting our feet up.

We also buy a new 4-person cutlery set, smaller than the one we already have, so we keep it in the picnic bag, we also take a bag of ammo box closures because one is broken and so we can replace it, they are good at selling individual pieces too, so you can change them if they break.

Finally, near the cash desk, there are stickers for the car, we started sticking the flag stickers of the places where we were in Africa on Dr. Livingstone, so far we only had South AfricaNamibiaBotswana and Swaziland; here instead we found KenyaTanzania, Zambia and Malawi; as soon as we clean Dr. Livingstone a little, that is already completely dirty, we attack them together with the others, we still miss some but sooner or later we will take them and there we will attack them all.

Finally I made a purchase as a hair washer but for the savannah: the thing I need to hold the iPhone when taking selfies, but I took it camouflaged; actually it also serves to keep the iPhone tilted when watching videos, honestly I don't know how I managed to live without it up until now!

Now that we finish fixing the refrigerator it's 11:30am, so we say goodbye to our friend at the Outdoor Warehouse, we give away our old fridge to the guy of the parking lot, who reacted like it's the happiest day of his life, and we go to Checkers Hyper to buy some vegetables, fruit, meat, bread, water and soft drinks; now that the refrigerator works and that it is even bigger than what we had before, we can fill it.

After the shopping we load everything on Dr. Livingstone and, since it's 12:00pm we decide to have lunch here before leaving and we decide to go to Roman's Pizza that is not far from where we parked.

We order two pizzas that are two craps but I must admit that they are very good: tropical, with tomato, mozzarella, pork loin and pineapple, and feteroni, with tomato, mozzarella, feta, spicy salami and jalapeno.

After lunch we get into our Dr. Livingstone, it's 12:30pm and it's time to go to get to the Marakele National Park at an acceptable time; from here it takes about 2 hours; let's leave!
