The image of the elephants moving in packs in the grassy and arid plains with the snow-covered peak of the Kilimanjaro Mount in the background, isone of the most exciting scenes of the Amboseli National Park and recognized by travelers worldwide.

In this park, there are the most beautiful and majestic elephants of Africa travelling from the acacia forests to the swamps in search of water; the Amboseli is a unique ecosystem and its survival is partly due to spring waters, coming from the top of the Kilimanjaro and feeding its marshes.

But in the Amboseli National Park , as suggested by its name, that means "land of dust", a lot of sand is present that in the distant past was the bedof a large lake, now dried up.
