We are at Johannesburg, South Africa, we spent three days here to prepare our car, Dr. Livingstone, for the journey, to do the shopping, at least for the first few days, but also to go to the Fourways Farmers Market, where we have spent a pleasant day with live music, friendly people and delicious street food.

We are at Johannesburg, South Africa, today is the last day we spend here and, since it's Sunday, we decide to go to the Fourways Farmers Market for brunch.
The Fourways Farmers Market is located at Fourways, an area a little away from Kempton Park, where our hotel is located, but with the various motorways and ring roads, it does not take long to travel the 33 km to reach it.

We landed this morning at Johannesburg, South Africa, first we went to get our Dr. Livingstone, our car, from Bushlore where it was to do a check-up and some changes.
It has been a while and we have missed our "beast" so much!
We are going to South Africa and we are on board our flight to Johannesburg, we woke up a couple of hours before landing, we slept really well and we can't wait to land.
As soon as the hostesses see that we are awake they serve us breakfast; we really needed a cappuccino and a croissant, now we are ready and count the minutes left to land.
In flight
Finally here we are! Today we have our flight that will take us to our beloved Africa!
We spent the morning preparing the last things and checking that we hadn't forgotten anything, it's one of my fears: forgetting something fundamental and that I can't buy on the spot.
After lunch we finally leave, we go to Malpensa by car, even if the parking will cost us a bit, it's always better than going by train, we have too much luggage: we have many things to take down to leave on our car, Dr. Livingstone.
Tomorrow we leave for our trip to South Africa and Botswana, it doesn't seem real!
For months we have not seen the time for this moment to arrive, months spent studying the itineraryand fantasizing about when we would have been in the most complete silence of the savannah, broken only by the sound of the wind; finally it's time to leave!
We are in love with Africa, its nature, its animals, its sunsets and its people and, as soon as we can, we do not miss the opportunity to escape to lose ourselves in the wonders of this continent.
This journey, and consequently its itinerary, was born from the request of some of our friends to accompany them on a trip to Botswana, to the Moremi Reserve and the Chobe National Park.
Botswana - South Africa
Planning a road trip takes time and every aspect must be studied carefully, particularly if the journey we are talking about is in some African country; it is important not to underestimate any aspect.
How to plan and organize a road trip to South Africa and Botswana
South Africa, among all the African countries, is one of the simplest where to organize a road trip, despite this, there are many aspects that should not be underestimated, so it is fundamental to study the country and its characteristics.

As always the time has come to take stock of this trip that has just ended.
It was a journey that was a bit challenging but very fascinating and exciting, we are happy to have seen Ethiopia now at a time when it still manages to preserve its traditions and cultures; sometimes the cultural and political isolation does not only have negative aspects, although of course we certainly cannot approve the recent political past of the country.
Coming to the numbers of our trip to Ethiopia:
Km traveled by car: 2,437
