This morning we woke up at our camp at the Chobe National Park in Botswana, we really enjoyed sleeping here, we regret a little having to leave; we found a place in this campsite only for the night just passed, tonight we will go to another location, just outside the national park, but always in an area frequented by animals.

As always, we got up early, had breakfast, and left for our morning safari.

There are only us aroundbecause those who come in for the day from Kasane take a while to get to this area, and those who are in other areas of the campsite are probably still sleeping.

We drive a few hundred meters and we find immediately a pack of lions, how beautiful!
They are three lionesses, a puppy and a male lion; the male lion is beautiful, it has a black mane like the lions of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.

At this time of morning it is easier for the lions to be active, in fact they are standing and walking in the green grass, they do not seem to hunt, they are probably just looking for a place to spend the day in the shade of some bush when the air temperature increases.

It is a very beautiful scene to attend even as we are alone and the lions are extremely relaxed and uninterested in our presence.

It is a very beautiful scene to attend even as we are alone and the lions are extremely relaxed and uninterested in our presence.

I would say that the beginning of the day is not bad at all!

We head towards Kasane and towards the Sedudu Gate and meanwhile we do safaris; we spot many birdsa large herd of buffaloes eating the green grass that grows near the Chobe River.

In some places there are beautiful views of the river, the landscape is truly spectacular, after the dryness of Savuti here it seems to be in the Garden of Eden.

As we approach the Sedudu Gate we meet more and more cars, they are those who make the day safaris from Kasane; this can be a good solution for those who want to sleep in a lodge without spending a fortune in the park, provided however that they do safaris for a whole day because this is the only way to see the Chobe Riverfront well, alternatively, if it's a morning or afternoon safari, you can only explore the area from the Sedudu Gate to the Serondela area.

At a certain point we see many cars all standing in one place, we wonder what they have seen, we approach and we see that everyone is busy watching and photographing a poor lion who is eating by the roadside, among other things giving its back to cars.

Fortunately, the lions do not usually get upset about the presence of the cars, even if they are as close as in this case, and they continue to quietly do what they were doing, if there had been a leopard or a cheetah in its place it would have certainly escaped.

At about 8.00 am we leave from the Sedudu gate, our car safari for this morning is over, we are heading to Kasane's embarkation as we will take a boat safari, that is another way to experience the Chobe National Park.
