After spending two days here at Gweta, Botswana, where we visited the Ntwetwe Pan, today is the time to leave to Maun.

We are happy because today our friends arrive and in the coming days we will travel with them and we will make a mobile safariat the Moremi Game Reserve, at Savuti and along the Chobe River in the Chobe National Park.

Today we finally leave the Gweta Lodge!

Unfortunately we were forced to book the Gweta Lodge, as at the Planet Baobab, our favorite here in Gweta, there was no place, although we tried to book many months in advance.

We were curious to test the Gweta Lodge anyway because they had talked about it well, actually the part of the lodge is not bad, we have not seen the rooms but the pool and the lounge are nice and the dinner is not bad, even if there is not a lot of choice.

The problem is if you want to do camping like we did: the camping area is not a campsite but a parking lot, it is not adequately equipped and is not cleaned regularly.

But the most unpleasant thing is that you are treated as guests of B series: the manager, who is so nice and hospitable with the lodge's guests, does not even speak to those who are camping, it is really embarrassing!

One evening we had dinner at the restaurant with our friends from Belgium, she came all smiling and started talking to them, while she ignored us, and she did so with all the other guests, depending on where they were staying; we didn't want to believe it.

I honestly don't think we'll be back here at the Gweta Lodge, we didn't really like it ... Planet Baobab forever!

Thank goodness we are leaving today!

After breakfast we prepare our Dr. Livingstone and we are ready to go, today we go to Maun.

We cross the village of Gweta, we reach the main road, the A3 Maun-Nata, and we turn left; the first stretch of road we travel is the same one where we passed by coming to Gweta from Khumaga, we pass between the Makgadikgadi National Park and the Nxai National Park and continue.

At some point, not far from the road, we see three male elephants that are busy eating, we slow down to watch them and, at the same time, we are joined by a car that comes in the opposite direction to ours and they ask us "Where do you come from? Is there anything to see there? "; the question leaves us a bit perplexed, we realize that these two boys have come to Botswana without knowing where to go and what to see and, above all, without booking anything ... a somewhat extreme choice in our opinion.

We continue our journey towards Maun, compared to the last time we passed on this road they rebuilt some portions of asphalt and closed several holes, even if there are some stretches that are still in precarious conditions and they would need much intervention.

It takes us two and a half hours to get to Maun, all along the way we have not encountered any town, only a few houses scattered here and there and nothing else.

Even without looking at the navigator we immediately understood when we were approaching Maun because we began to see signs of human presence; among other things we have the feeling that they have built several new buildings.

In the end we managed to arrive at 11:00 am, very well because we have a lot of things to do today.
