The Taneka live in the mountains of Northern Benin, it is a fascinating population where voodoo dignitaries play a leading role within society.

The Taneka are a population born from the fusion of different ethnic groups, all fleeing from the raids by the slave-driver troops; finally they found shelter on the mountains of Atakora.

The feticheurs are mysterious figures and with a magical aura, they guard the secrets of ancestral rituals, and practice traditional medicine.
